A safe environment for your kids before and after school
With all there is to worry about on a daily basis, the safety and security of your kids shouldn't have to be one of those things. At USC, you can be confident your kids are being looked after in a manner that caters to their health, well-being, and growth.

The Urban Scholastic Center (USC) is a Kansas City, Kansas-based nonprofit youth ministry and education program. USC was founded to help close opportunity gaps for students in Wyandotte County through extended education opportunities laced with a strong faith foundation. Our mission is to “build leaders from here, for here, through Jesus and education.”

Programs
The USC impacts the lives of hundreds of K-12 students monthly in Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County. You can learn more about our programs here.

Some of the things your student will do at USC include:

Learn about Jesus Christ and study the Bible.

Expand their depth by immersion in an environment that promotes character building.

Develop leadership, homework and study skills.

Participate in exercise every day.

Broaden their educational knowledge base in reading and math.

Engage in innovative science and coding programming.

Learn about entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
-
Learn the game of Chess.
-
Take field trips, including but not limited to, two college visits a year.

Complete more than 60 hours of community service.

Create products for the Urban Market and develop art skills

Have lots of fun!

Parent Expectations

Complete and turn in all required forms.

Pay the student fee of $50 PER SEMESTER.

You must make a commitment to have your child at USC every day. Three unexcused absences per semester will result in the student being suspended from programs.

Pick up your child promptly at 6:00 pm for Life Enrichment, 8:00 pm for Soul Food, and 12:00 pm for Chess Club.

You must contact USC if your student(s) will not be coming to USC.
